In my quest to illustrate all the Doctor’s with the TARDIS, I’ve finally gotten to the 8th Doctor! I’ve been looking forward to this one for some time, especially since I really enjoyed the Doctor Who movie that aired on Fox in 1996. Although I wasn’t entirely sure which outfit to illustrate him in, I finally decided to go with the updated version after seeing the “Night of the Doctor” mini episode. It just felt like the right direction.
I also decided to incorporate embers and storm clouds as a prelude to the looming Time War and my loosely planned triptych design between the 8th, 9th and War Doctor illustrations. If you look at the 9th Doctor piece you’ll see a Dalek head on ground symbolizing the end of the Time War and War Doctor piece (when I get to it) will be fully engulfed in flames.
Pencil, ink and colors all by me.

Back in 2010 Hasbro tasked me with developing character designs for second GI Joe movie. The characters they had me work on were Snake-Eyes, Firefly and a new character called GI Joe. They wanted to see everything from realistic to cartoony and over the top.
I’m getting excited about the new Star Wars movies arriving next year! Supposedly, some of the storyline is going to revolve around a Jedi Academy under the guidance of Luke Skywalker.
Well, since I haven’t been invited to work on a Star Wars movie, I thought it would fun to create a Jedi Padawan I’d like to see run around on the big screen. The idea of someone from the Sith species training to become a Jedi Master developed because of the conflicting elements of his evil origins and desire to follow the light side of the Force. Plus, his red skin against a blue lightsaber would really pop!
Okay, geek moment is done.
Welcome to my new little spot on the web! I finally decided (after observing mankind viewing more and more material on their phones and tablets) to redesign my personal website to be mobile friendly. Time for a change, I thought.
You can still view my old site via the link at the top of the page, but come back here in a few days for new posts.
