Amber Atoms! For those of you that might not know, Amber Atoms was my first creator-owned series published in 2008 by Image Comics. Long story short, a female Flash Gordon. Unfortunately, it couldn’t have come out at a worse time. The economy was tanking and heading into one of the worst recessions of our lifetime- and comics were not spared. I completed 5 issues, but only got 4 out.
One fun point of interest, a producer contacted me and wanted to shop it around Hollywood. There was interest in casting Miley Cyrus since she was fresh off Hannah Montana and looking for spacey adventure project to work on. Obviously, it didn’t launch, but it was exciting if only for a bit.
Anyway, I TOTALLY got off point! This is only my 2ndliquid acrylic painting done in preparation for my upcoming trip to (IMC) Illustration Master’s Class. More on that another time!
There’s definitely more Amber Atoms stories to be told! I’ve written more adventures, now I just have to find time to illustrate them!
